Privacy Policy for LinxU

LinxU ("the app") is a networking app for event attendees to build and manage a member profile and keep track of people they meet. LinxU is developed by TetheredWorks ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it's protected.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information (about you)

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address and password (if you sign up with email), or your Google account identifier and basic profile info (if you sign up with Google Sign-In). Passwords are never seen or stored by us directly — authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service.
• Profile details you choose to enter: name, phone number, job title, industry, and a "meeting location" you can set for others to find you at an event.
• Event check-in info: the name and date of an event you mark yourself as attending, if you use that feature.

1.2 Information about people you connect with

When you scan another member's code or add a connection, we save that person's name, industry, job title, company, email, phone number, and website (whichever of those they've shared on their own profile) into your personal contacts list, along with the event and date you met, if applicable. This information is provided by the app's own users about people they meet at events — not collected by us directly from those third parties. It is stored so only the member who saved it can see it.

1.3 Information we don't collect

We do not collect device location, contact-list/address-book access, advertising identifiers, or any analytics/crash data. The app requests only two permissions: internet access and camera access (the latter solely to scan another member's QR code).

2. How we use this information

• To create and operate your account and let you sign in.
• To let other signed-in members look up your profile (name, job title, industry, etc.) when you share your code with them — this is the app's core purpose, a mutual professional directory.
• To store your personal saved-connections list, visible only to you.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How this information is stored and protected

• Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication), encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by Firebase's infrastructure.
• Your saved contacts list is restricted at the database level to your account only — no other member can read it.
• Your profile (name/job title/industry/etc., not your contacts list) is visible to other signed-in members, since that's the directory feature the app provides.
• We do not run our own servers that see this data — it goes directly from the app to Firebase, via Google's SDKs.

4. Data retention and deletion

Your account and profile data are retained until you delete your account, which you can do at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app — this immediately and permanently deletes your profile and everyone you've saved as a connection. You can also contact info@tetheredworks.com to request deletion. Note that saved-connection entries you added to other members' contact lists are their own records and aren't affected by deleting your account.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) — see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's data processing terms.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your basic account info (name, email, profile photo) with the app per your Google Account permissions.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

6. Children's privacy

LinxU is intended for professional networking at industry/business events and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to its processing. Contact info@tetheredworks.com to exercise these rights.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
